Richard Lewis Emig age 59, of Eustis, Florida, was tragically taken from his loving family on June 27, 2024 in Tallahassee. He was born July 24, 1964 in Tampa, Florida, the son of George B. and Dorothy M. (Jordan) Emig and has resided in Eustis for over 15 years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved spending his days with his grandson Aiden fishing, kayaking, and gardening. A true friend to everyone, he could often be found assisting neighbors, friends and family with anything that needed to be done. Richard had an amazing work ethic and spent the majority of his life working as a Surveyor, providing for his family and their future. Whether you called him Dad/Grandpa/Richard/Rick/Ricky or Mr. Ricky, if you were lucky enough to know and love him, you knew your life was better because he was in it. He was patient and kind and his smiling face and his well-known catchphrase “Hey, Hi, How are ya?” will be missed by all. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved step-daughter Jessica Clark (2010). He is survived by the love of his life, Teresa Joiner; son Richard Michael Emig; step-daughter Cheyenne Dean; grandchildren Richard Emig, Aiden Clark and Paige Emig; and sister Lynda (Doug) Hyland. Pallbearers will be Richard M. Emig; Cody Parkison; Chuck Heise; Joe Deckerhoff; Joe Rice; and Tony Waters. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Collison-Gramkow Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Deltona Memorial Gardens. After the services, the family will have a Celebration of Life at the family home in Eustis.
