Joysee Mar Cartagena Clemente

Joysee Mar Cartagena Clemente age 49 of Sanford, Florida, passed away unexpectedly July 17, 2023. She was born June 18, 1974 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Andres Cartagena and Maria del C. Clemente. She was predeceased by her father Andres Cartagena. Joysee is survived by her mother Maria del C. Clemente Morales (Mario Gonzalez), son Steven Rivera Cartagena, brother Samuel Cartagena, two sisters Janelys Ferryman (Rob), Valerie Melendez (Nelson Domenech), and aunt Luz Clemente. Joysee will be remembered for her kindness and her ability to make others smile. Many of her friends and coworkers describe her as a "shine of light" in everyone's day. As the oldest of 3 girls, she was a very loving and protective sister and the 3 of them formed an unbreakable bond. She was also an amazing mother who always put the needs of her son first. She protected him fiercely from the negative things in life and made sure he knew every single day how much she loved him. Joysee loved people and made many friends through all phases of her life. She had the ability to connect with people and cultivate lifelong friendships. She maintained many close relationships with her high school classmates from the class of 1991 and those friendships became generational as their children became friends. She will be missed by so many. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collison-Gramkow Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
